Didyo

Premiering at the U.S. Embassy of Cotonou and Festival Connexion 2023 edition 3.

The Challenge

Performed by the students of the Centre Chorégraphique Multicorps, Didyo is a piece born from movement, transformation, and shared experience. Under the direction and choreography of Cecilia Slongo, this work emerged as part of her Fulbright scholarship project in 2023.

Premiering at the U.S. Embassy of Cotonou and Festival Connexion 2023 edition, Didyo explored the challenges of the journey of change. Over nine months of teaching, learning, collaborating, and sharing perspectives and experiences we delved into the nature of change, navigating personal and collective growth.

The Process

Through this process, our bonds deepened, shaped by moments of challenge, discovery, and evolution. Each person involved from students to choreographer experienced a transformation, moving beyond their comfort zones and embracing the ever-shifting dynamics of the human experience.

Didyo is a reflection of that journey—a testament to resilience, adaptation, and the beauty of change in motion through the hand of dance as a vehicle of universal expression.

Choreographed and produced by Cecilia Slongo interpreted by students of the Centre Choregraphique Multicorps.
