Ansenuzas
Work in Progress – Benin/USA
Dance Film
Ansenuzas is a dance film that speaks through movement, set in the heart of Benin and brought to life by three powerful female dancers.
As an artist, I see this film as a tribute to the creative force of women, an invitation to witness their dreams, artistry, and boundless expression.
This film embodies the essence of these powerful humans, honoring women as both the initiators and sustainers of life and abundance. Each dancer becomes a vessel of nature’s unique beauty, embracing her authenticity and deep-rooted connection to the environment from a contemporary experience.

A Visual and Emotional Journey
Gbloba
Filmed across diverse landscapes, Ansenuzas threads together the hometowns of each dancer, weaving personal narratives into the very fabric of the visuals. Their stories unfold through movement, through the land that shapes them, and through the intimate dance between the camera and their presence. The interplay of motion and perspective creates a rich tapestry, inviting the audience to step into a world where culture, identity, and authentic expression merge in a vibrant, visual symphony.
Created by Cecilia Slongo, danced and choreographed by Larissa DOSSOU, Florence GNARIGO and Carmelita SIWA.
